The mangroves of Playa Grande are a nursery for life. Herons and egrets stalk the shallows, crocodiles bask along the muddy banks, monkeys move through the canopy and crabs scatter across the roots. Bordering Las Baulas National Marine Park, this estuary is one of the richest wildlife corridors on the Guanacaste coast.
